2022 in Review

2022 was an action-packed year at Ravata with clear goals, surprise hurdles, and creative problem solving to keep us on track.

At the onset of the year Ravata’s goal was to develop 2 software applications for customer use, scale manufacturing to enable 100 chips a month, and convert 11 interested customers in the animal IVF space. Ravata completed the two software applications by mid-year and began performing rigorous product stress testing. Through these tests a considerable amount was learned about the performance of the system and key variables. Bugs and issues from this testing consumed the entirety of Fall and early Winter. By the start of the holiday season Ravata had ironed out its remaining issues and had converted 6 of the 11 customers with pilots having begun for most of them. Of the remaining 5 customers, our biggest challenges have been geography, species of animals, and the production volume to service these customers.

In summary, in 2022 we expanded our team from 5 individuals to 11, continued revenue generating activities making this the second consecutive profitable year in Ravata’s existence, completed an NIH grant and applied to a USDA grant, were granted one patent and filed a second, tripled our monthly website traffic, and have a complete minimum viable product with documentation and production lines in place.

Looking Forward

Ravata’s goal for 2023 is to deliver to customers 2500 chips and deploy at least 10 devices by the end of the year. To this end Ravata will need to invest in tools and systems to scale manufacturing as it is currently the largest challenge to growth. By the beginning of summer, we will have completed 5 pilots and converted any interested parties into customers while also beginning development of novel software applications to meet customer needs. There has been interest from outside parties to move into companion animals, endangered animals, exotic animals, and equine. Each of these is possible however our predominant focus will be on reaching ISO 13845 production standards for our consumables so we can begin collecting human data and investing in our software development infrastructure.

As always we are looking for electrical engineers, computer engineers, mechanical engineers, machine learning engineers, operations professionals, sales advisors, marketing advisors, clinical advisors, and creative thinkers to join our mission; achieving in vitro fertilization success the first time.

Interested in a Pilot?

Ravata Solutions has overcome a range of productization challenges to scale its deployment of devices to customers and academic partners. We are now ready to begin assessing embryo quality on-site across the country! Contact us here to receive more information on the Pilot and check out our website for more information.

Embryologist Input Wanted!

We are surveying the assisted reproduction landscape to identify the needs of embryologists, lab techs, and directors nationwide regardless of the mammalian species they work with. Please help us gain traction in this endeavor by forwarding our survey to anyone you believe fits the demographic. Survey results will be shared with respondents and via newsletter!
