July 2022 Ravata Newsletter

 Introduction

Thank you for reading Ravata’s monthly newsletter where we aim to keep our friends, customers, and collaborators up-to-date. In this issue, we will cover our Technical White Paper: Microfluidic Impedance Cytometer for Bovine Zygote Viability and Human Cell Sorter Microfluidics as well as a summary of our first Application Note utilizing the product in Cattle.

Technical Whitepaper and Application Notes

After several years of stealth mode development Ravata is finally proud to share its Microfluidic Impedance Cytometer with the world! The platform measures the permittivity and conductivity of embryos thereby quantifying the viability and health of embryos. Integrated into the system is automated microfluidic handling which enables reproducible and scalable operation.

This system was evaluated with collaborators at UC Davis in both Cattle and Mouse applications. Please check out our Application Note Summary for Bovine Blastocyst Evaluation here: Microfluidic Impedance Cytometer for Bovine Zygote Viability.

For more technical information including access to the Technical White Paper and full Bovine Application Note, contact Gurkern Sufi.

Human Cell Sorter Microfluidics

Preliminary designs have been manufactured and are currently undergoing testing. Once successful individual human embryos can be labeled and tracked allowing for us to begin evaluating human embryos.

This microfluidic system will also greatly benefit cattle producers allowing them to know which labeled embryo has been preloaded into which embryo transfer straw.

Ready For Pilots!

For field applications, data is required using cells at the facility of use. We are now offering Pilots to install and tailor the system for customers and collaborators. Contact us here to receive more information on the Pilot and check out our website for more information.

WE STILL NEED HELP!

We are surveying the assisted reproduction landscape to identify the needs of embryologists, lab techs, and directors nationwide regardless of the mammalian species they work with.

Please help us gain traction in this endeavor by forwarding our survey to anyone you believe fits the demographic. Survey results will be shared with respondents and via newsletter!

Regards,

Ravata Team
